SP Social Responsibility
As Standard Profil Group, we focus on sustainability and we develop by adding value to the society we’re operating in.
We continue conducting projects to make a better world with ‘SP Act for Good’ and our volunteering employees.
Our team of 332 people constituting a total of 83 teams from Düzce, Istanbul and Manisa took part in the STEPTEMBER event that aimed to provide support to the lifelong training and rehabilitation needs of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP).
In Cape Town, where access to water is one of the biggest problems, our SP South Africa Factory handed out 300 water flasks to students of a local high school on this year’s Mandela Day.
We planted new forestation at our own home and crowned the garden of our youngest plant, SP Jingzhou, with trees.
35 of our colleagues from SP Düzce gave hope to patients who are waiting for bone marrow transplants, with a campaign called ‘Let’s Save a Life’. To raise awareness about bone marrow donation, after trainings in May, over 200 bone marrow donations were made in our Düzce factory in June, thanks to cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent.
Our team at SP Mexico broke into a sweat on 5 km and 10 km courses at races for the benefit of children with cance.
We love to contribute to the communities we live in. Every year we support the Düzce Municipality İftar Campaign and this year enjoyed an iftar meal together with our neighbours in Konuralp.
To raise funds and awareness for the treatment of spinal cord paralysis, the Wings for Life World Run took place in Izmir on May 5th. In coordination with the global run our SP Manisa Factory volunteer employees ran with the team of our customer Ford.
As with every year, our Spanish plant donated to the La Rioja Food Bank this year, helping families in need in the region.
To support the social and cultural development of children and encourage them adopt positive habits, we sponsored the science workshop of the Children's Club organised by Düzce Municipality.
We wanted the New Year to bring hope to children in need, so we sent UNICEF donation cards instead of gifts to all our stakeholders.
The ASPACE Walk, a charity walk for the disabled, was held this year in the streets of Logrono. At the event that we have been participating in since 2015, 59 volunteers from our SP Spain Factory completed the 19.5 km route for the benefit of the disabled.
We supported the TAYSAD ( Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers) Talent Management Conference for the second time as a bronze sponsor, in which new age human resources and strategies were examined.
We sponsored Logrono University at MotoStudent, the premier competition among Spanish universities for motorcycles designed and produced by university students.
Our SP Mexico plant turned green with trees planted in the garden. Each department planted their own trees, dreaming of resting in their shade for years to come.
To support the education and rehabilitation services that children with Cerebral Palsy need throughout their lives, as SP Turkey, we supported the STEPTEMBER project, which was conducted simultaneously in 7 countries. We walked and collected donations for children with volunteering employees in our Istanbul, Manisa and Düzce locations. Thanks to our volunteer army of 460 people, we were the second largest contingent among all the companies that participated throughout Turkey.
Mandela Day, celebrated on July 18, is celebrated with volunteer activities to keep Nelson Mandela's memory alive. Each year, our SP South Africa team crown this day with a social responsibility project. Volunteer co-workers visited a nursing home, served food, presented gifts and had sincere conversations to help residents enjoy a pleasant day.
As in previous years, we supported the YAKA/Life and Career Fair held in Düzce University. We were the main sponsor of the fair and conducted interview simulations at our booth. Our Group R&D Director Ali Erkin Kutlu talked about careers in the automotive industry in his speech.
In the assessment of 300 companies in Lanfgang, by the Economic Development Zone, we were awarded a certificate for our occupational health and safety practices at the production site.
SP Morocco plant created a special project to increase awareness of nature for future generations. In the Children's Festival, which was launched last year and held for the second time this year, we aim to highlight the value of environmental and ecological culture among young children.
As the Standard Profil Group, we strive to leave a beautiful world for our children. Therefore, we support their development. We wished happy new year to our customers, suppliers and business partners with UNICEF inspired gifts and welcomed 2018 by touching the lives of children in need.
We started sign language lessons in SP Düzce Plant in November, as a part of the “Speaking Hands” project started in February to support hearing impaired employees.
We started production in the SP Manisa-ZEKI Plant. We produce profiles for the world’s giant automotive brands with our colleagues in the Protective Workplace Living Centre for People with Mental Disabilities. We have 8 mentally disabled colleagues in the centre that has 12 workshops.
An important event took place in Manisa Plants within the scope of the 25th November, Day Against Violence Against Women. To raise public awareness about combating violence against women, trainings prepared by the General Directorate of Women's Status affiliated to the Ministry of Family and Social Policy were organized. All our employees were educated about the fight against violence, over a three week period.
Standard Profil continues its global projects in all locations. Within the scope of our donation projects, we donated to schools and institutions in need at our SP Bulgaria and Morocco plants.
As Standard Profil Turkey employees, we have organized a donation campaign by collecting proper materials from our homes and offices. With the support of “ihtiyacharitasi.org”, we could deliver them to needy schools in various cities of Turkey from Midyat to Sinop.
With employees of our South Africa Plant, we visited the children’s ward of the Tygerberg Hospital on 18th of July to honour and celebrate Mandela Day.
On 22nd of May, the III El Arco Community Run was held in support of the Riojana Association for friends and family of children with cancer (FARO). Our volunteers from SP Spain ran in support of the cause and bonded with the children and their families.
We supported the event «YAKA 16’ Life and Career Fest» of Düzce University with silver sponsorship. Düzce Plant General Manager Teoman Yücel attended the event and shared his experiences with the students.
We supported the CSR project of the Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers; «Let’s Improve Technical High Schools» by increasing materials from the Düzce and Manisa plants.
To support the fight against domestic violence, we supported the awareness program of social incidents, conducted by the Manisa Community Policing Branch Office.
To address the problems of the disabled, we set up a podium at the Dragonfest event, held in İzmir and Istanbul. After the events, in the name of Standard Profil, we donated 30 white walking sticks and 8 wheelchairs.
Standard Profil Global Infrastructure Director Süha Tunca joined Düzce University Science and Technology Festival which Standard Profil sponsored. Tunca spoke about the global technologic infrastructure of the company and met students.
Düzce Üniversitesi tarafından düzenlenen YAKA 15’ Yaşam ve Kariyer Festivali’ne altın sponsor olarak katıldık. Etkinlik kapsamında konuşma yapan İK’dan Sorumlu Genel Müdür Yardımcımız Ayhan İbrahim Tokcan tecrübelerini öğrencilerle paylaştı.
During the National Day of Blood Donation in Morocco, we donated blood from more than 400 employees of the Standard Profil Tangier Plant.
Our colleagues at Standard Profil Manisa Plants have volunteered for blood donations to the National Blood Bank of Turkey (Kızılay).
We supported the La Rioja Food Bank with a collection campaign of food packets throughout SP Spain. We collected over 1,200 kilos of food.
