The VW Group award was presented to Standard Profil as one of the Group’s best suppliers on June 10th in a ceremony described as “The Night of the Best”. VW stated that award winning companies demonstrate qualities including innovative strength, product quality, environmental compatibility, competent project management, globalization and development expertise.
In his speech the Chairman of the VW Board of Management, Professor Dr Martin Winterkorn, thanked the 17 suppliers receiving the Group Award for their successful cooperation during 2009 and stressed the need for innovative, efficient and reliable suppliers to support the achievement of VW’s objective of becoming the leading global automobile producer by 2018.
Dr Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Member of the VW Group Board of Management with responsibility for Procurement, made the presentation to the award winners. Mr Rifat Kahmi, one of the founders of Standard Profil and a Board Member, received the award on behalf of the company. Dr Sanz added his thanks to the winners for the reliability of their products and services and for their support and cooperation based on partnership.
Andreas Engel, CEO of Standard Profil, has since commented that “this award is a tremendous achievement for our company and recognition of the outstanding job that our employees have done on Golf and Polo projects during 2009.”
